Updated Release: AddOn Studio for World of Warcraft v2 BETA 2 (Feb 11, 2009)

This is the latest release of AddOn Studio for World of Warcraft and is designed to work with Wrath of the Lich King.

If the AddOn Studio installation fails, please try installing the Visual Studio Shell from the link below:

If the installer still fails, please file a bug and include 1) Operating System, 2).NET Framework version installed, and any specific information provided by the installer.

To get this release out, we made several temporary feature cuts until we can stabilize them.

For software and hardware requirements, please read the Version2readme

Installation Instructions

You do not need Visual Studio installed to use AddOn Studio. AddOn Studio is a completely standalone IDE
Download and extract the zip file into a directory
Run setup.exe

Note: If you do not have the .NET Framework 3.5 installed, AddOn Studio will download and install it which may take 30+ minutes for download and installation.
You may be prompted to install the C++ redistributable if you have not done so before
You may see a message saying the Visual Studio Isolated Shell has not been installed, if the installer does not install that automatically, navigate to the "vsshell" directory and double click the vs_shell.msi to install the shell. After the Shell is installed, re-run the setup.exe

After installing, if you have never done so, follow the steps in the Version2readme to install the Warcraft AddOn Kit (2.2.1).

FrameXML Designer rendering for complex AddOns
The splash screen and product versions still say 1.0

Rated 5 Stars (out of 5) - I read these reviews, and I think it's out of line for their inability to use the interweb on their corn puter as the justification for flaming. I downloaded it just fine, and installed. One thing I'd be interested in seeing are more project types. Similar to Visual Studio's off the shelf (WinApp, Web App, Web Service), but with the WoW Addon flavor (Action Bars, Chat, Guild, and Unit Frames).
